OCCULT: Early Albums To Be Reissued
September 29, 2004Dutch thrashers OCCULT have posted a message on their web site clarifying their reasons for entering the studio so soon after the release of their most recent album, "Elegy for the Weak". The message reads as follows:
"We get alot of questions in why the hell we will be recording a new album since 'Elegy for the Weak' was just released in March of this year by Karmageddon Media Records.
" 'Elegy for the Weak' was actually recorded 1.5 years ago, but due to problems of our former recordcompany Painkiller Records, the album eventually saw daylight through Karmageddon Media in March 2004, 8 months later than expected and scheduled. Of course OCCULT hasn't been sitting around doing nothing during that delay but already started working on 9 new songs.
"However Karmageddon Media was intrested in doing something different, like a single, re-record old songs along with some live songs, but we thought that if we are going to release something it should be another full-length new album, therefore we will enter the Stage One Studio again in October to record our 6th upcoming album: 'Malevolent Rapture'. Planned to be released around March 2005 on Karmageddon Media. Meanwhile Karmageddon Media has plans to re-release all our previous albums, 'Prepare to Meet Thy Doom', 'The Enemy Within', 'Of Flesh and Blood' and 'Rage to Revenge', every release will contain something additional and unreleased such as promos, demos and live recordings.
"OCCULT is planning on touring again and hopefully doing some festivals in 2005 after 'Malevolent Rapture' has been released."
